*Warning* Legal "Smoking" Blends

This is probably a given for most of you, but don't buy "smoking" blends.  Unless your intentions are to smoke it as a tobacco replacement.  Yes, the same type herbs are listed on your incense bags, but the herbs are the only thing in it. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the "smoking" blends as long as you know what you are getting in to.  I've talked to quite a few people who have started stocking these "smoking" blends to sell to herbal incense customers.  Packing weight usually starts at 7gr with prices around $1 a gram.  The design of the bags are very similar to herbal incense packaging.  The shops are going for the one time sale with these.

If the packaging tells you to ingest, you have just bought an expensive tobacco alternative.

Freedom Buds

I received a sample last week from these guys.  I've seen them around for past couple years but never tried their product.  Their site is easy to use and they offer several varieties.  The sample I tested was just the basic.  It looks to be a straight Damiana blend.  No scents added, just very plain.  It is in the medium strength range.  They seem like okay people and their blend works.  Contact them for a sample, if available.

Kush Herbal Incense

I tried this recently and it's nothing like it was 6-8 months ago.  I'm not talking about the active ingredients but the herbs themselves.  This use to be a quality product.  Nice smell and medium to high strength.  Unpleasant smoke and after 20 minutes let "down" again.   Hopefully this was an isolated batch.  If anyone has similar reports please leave a comment.

Mr. Marley

There seems to be a lot of varieties of this blend.  Each store has slightly different packaging.  Product has tested to be about the same, no matter what store or scent(kush, 420, etc.).  Overall decent, not too many highs or lows.  Definitely not the strongest out there.  A good amount of sticks but manageable.  Don't pay more than $15 for 3gr.

Any requests?

Unsure about a product's legitimacy?
Did a new herbal incense come out in your area?
Don't want to waste anymore money in finding out if a blend works?

I have easy access to many new products so just send me an email with a product name and/or link. I will order and review if available through my distributor.

H2 Herbal Incense

The product did work but was blah, barely noticeable. I found the H2 to be a waste of money at $19.99 for 3gr. $10 would be a good retail price. There is better out there, not worth the try if you're looking for a change.

Comatose Candy

Very strong. Good smell. 1 gram bags can be short. Buy 3gr bags if available, even if 3 one gram bags are the same price. $20-25 (3gr)

Fusion

Very good product. Great value and pleasant aroma. Recommended. Don't pay more than $20 for 3gr.

Orange Crescent - (2)Blends

Alright, 2 different blends that came in separate packages. Neither had a name and both list the same ingredients. The amounts on the tray are both less than what comes in the bags. At least .75g of each had already been burnt.

The top one in the picture has a nice, mellow, orange scent. The consistency is awesome. Not too dry, just kinda fun to handle. Rolls perfectly for burning. I would put it in the upper medium grade incense when it comes to strength. I can't say enough good things about the overall appeal of this product.

The bottom one has a much more potent orange aroma. It's darker and looks like different herbs. Doesn't burn as well, when rolled but is just as strong. Both blends last a little over an hour when a .25g is burnt.

I wish they would have named or labeled the samples differently. The top one is the way to go. It really is one of my favorites.

Bayou Blaster

Ok, I read many good things about this blend. Supposed to be super strong. So, of course I was happy when I received it as a sample.

Does it work? Is it strong?

Well, first I opened the bag. Ouch, man, what the hell? It smells like that gator on the front just had it's nails done. My senses could be off and it could be a mint that's in it but it smells of nail polish remover. The herbs are completely dry, even crumbly to an extent, so you wouldn't think it was from acetone. It would have evaporated. But what smells are left from nail polish remover that isn't 100% acetone? I dunno, hopefully not what I'm smelling.

Against good judgment, I decide to burn some. Only a small amount. Hmm, definitely more minty now. Well, it does work and it is up there in strength. The material itself actually looks appealing and it works quite well but that smell. I can't get passed it. There is too many other options to use something that doesn't fully do it for you.

K2 - Sex on the Mountain

This will probably be of interest to you folks who reside in a state that feels they can make better decisions for you, than stupid, little you. That's right, "Sex on the Mountain" is supposed to be legal everywhere. So, the burning question is "does it work?"

Let's find out.

As the package is opened, my nostrils perk up. It takes a minute...Brandy. But not some cheap swill, it smells like it's been aged in an oak barrel. A pleasant change from some of the pizza seasoning smelling blends. It rolls well, smokes good and most importantly, it works.

45 minutes later and back to normal. The scent didn't give any type of head ache and overall pretty clean. It could be stronger but if you're state sucks, this is a good choice.

What's Out There?

Most of us have either tried or heard of K2, Serenity Now or Spice. Your local shop may have a few other choices but there is much more out there. Some try to ride the K2 name with different scents. Others decide to be original and come up with their own name and graphics. Most all of them work well, even if some piggyback others success.

I have over 25 different blends to go through and test for everybody. A few of them are: K2 "Sex on the Mountain", Bayou Blaster, Texas Gold and G.I. Jane.

If anyone wants a certain blend reviewed, leave a comment with where to find it.
